Immediate Care provides diagnostic and treatment services for those with nonemergency ailments and injuries. Immediate care services provide an alternative to going to the Emergency Room or Urgent Care clinic when you are sick and cannot get in to see your doctor right away. Immediate sees walk-in patients that need to get into the doctor that day.
Immediate Care typically offers the same services as an Urgent Care. However, it is important to note, your insurance company may have different benefits for Urgent Care than Immediate Care.
White-Wilson's Immediate Care Clinics are open seven days a week in Fort Walton Beach, and open Monday through Saturday in Navarre and Niceville. Destin Immediate Care is open Monday through Friday. Click here for the hours.
Immediate Care facilities, similar to Urgent Care, specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of non life-threatening illnesses and injuries included but not limited to: to:
Flu, cold, strep throat, RSV, etc.
Injuries such as sprains and strains
Chronic or inexplicable pain and discomfort
Minor outpatient surgery
Immediate Care treatment is available for individuals of all ages; however, it is not intended for emergency purposes. For example, if you have a fever in excess of 104 degrees and the fever is accompanied by other serious symptoms like vomiting, dizziness, confusion, chills, etc., you should go to the Emergency Room.
Ultimately, the purpose of Immediate Care services are to provide patients with robust, urgent, quality care in a timely manner, eliminating the time and expense associated with an Emergency Room visit. Immediate Care Clinics are often confused with Urgent Care Clinics. Although Urgent Care physicians and Immediate Care physicians can typically treat the same things, your health insurance benefits may vary.
Unlike Urgent Care Clinics, Immediate Care Clinics charge similar to a standard doctor's office visit. Additional fees may be incurred for any lab, imaging or procedures needed at the point of service.
