About Dr. Rushing
Sara Rushing, M.D. is board-certified by American Board of Internal Medicine and cares for patients admitted to the hospital as a part of White-Wilson Medical Center's In-Patient Care team. A lifelong resident of Crestview, Dr. Rushing comes from a long line of physicians, including her grandfather and great uncle who opened Okaloosa County's first hospital, Enzor Brothers Hospital, in Crestview in 1928.

With a desire to help patients when they need it most, Dr. Rushing earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida and then completed her residency at the University of Alabama – Birmingham's University Hospital. Following her training, she returned home to Crestview where she cared for patients in private practice before finding her true calling as a Hospitalist and has since cared for patients in in-patient settings for more than 20 years.

With a background in scientific research, Dr. Rushing utilizes data extensively in developing care plans. Additionally, she prides herself on being a confidant to her patients and listening intently when they open up to her. Dr. Rushing understands the fear and confusion that often come with a hospital stay and strives to be a comforting presence to her patients and their families.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Rushing enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, traveling and white-water kayaking. She also is an avid painter who has had her artwork displayed at art shows and juried exhibitions.
