About Wendy Harris
Wendy Harris, APRN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate pediatric care at White-Wilson Medical Center’s DeFuniak Springs Clinic. With more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including over 20 years as a nurse practitioner, she is dedicated to helping children achieve lifelong health while building trusted relationships with families.
Originally from Georgia, APRN Harris began her nursing career as a registered nurse before earning her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern University in Americus, Georgia.
Her passion for pediatrics grew from her extensive experience in Neonatal Intensive Care, where she cared for some of the most vulnerable patients. She enjoys partnering with families through every stage of childhood, providing preventive care, managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting healthy growth and development.
Her philosophy of care is simple: treat every child as she would want her own family to be treated. APRN Harris believes in listening carefully to both children and their parents, creating an environment where families feel heard, respected, and confident in their care. She combines evidence-based medicine with compassion, education, and a personal approach that empowers families to make informed healthcare decisions.
One of her greatest professional rewards has been caring for multiple generations of families, watching her pediatric patients grow into adults and later entrusting her with the care of their own children. This continuity of care reflects the lasting relationships she values with her patients and their families.
Outside of the office, APRN Harris enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, discovering new restaurants, decorating, and relaxing at the beach. She and her husband have two children, and she cherishes every opportunity to make memories with those she loves, including her dogs.
