About

It started in a house on Brooks Street.

White-Wilson Medical Center has been serving Florida's Emerald Coast since 1946, providing care for generations.

  1. 1946

Dr. Henry C. White opened the first physician's office in Fort Walton Beach, working out of a house on Brooks Street. He lived upstairs with his family and provided 24-hour medical care to a growing community. Recognizing how much more the town needed, he expanded the practice to include laboratory services, diagnostic x-ray, surgical facilities and 10 inpatient beds.

  2. 1952

Dr. Joseph C. Wilson, Dr. White's medical school classmate, joined the practice. Together they established White-Wilson Medical Center, turning a single-doctor clinic into a multi-physician facility serving Okaloosa and Walton Counties.

  3. 1977

The main campus opened on Mar Walt Drive in Fort Walton Beach. It remains our primary location today.

  4. Since

Satellite clinics followed in Destin (1983), Niceville (1999), Navarre (2014), Crestview (2020), and DeFuniak Springs (2022), where specialized care no longer meant a long drive.

  5. 2026

Eighty years on, White-Wilson Medical Center continues Dr. White's mission: accessible, comprehensive healthcare across Northwest Florida's Emerald Coast.

The same vision. A continuing mission.

Eighty years later, that vision has grown across locations and specialties to meet the evolving needs of our communities. White-Wilson Medical Center remains committed to making quality healthcare accessible for every generation.
